Magazine Project Genre Research-Men's Health

Men's Health magazine, the number one magazine for men, focuses on nutrition, fashion, and physical fitness. Analyzing the front cover allows for the reader to be encapsulated amongst three central colors, with large, bolded font, and does not distract from New York Yankee outfielder, Giancarlo Stanton. Since this is the first thing that is seen on the magazine, the editor creates a layout that keeps a clean look, prohibiting loud text and colors that distract from the main focus, placed in the left third of the cover. The firetruck red of the magazine title catches the reader's eye and draws them in to see what they are looking at; also, the large subheadings trailing down the right side and some on the left side, give a brief summary as to what is enclosed within the magazine's pages. Inside, each article is spaced every few pages because there are advertisements containing products that would appeal to someone who is working towards a healthy lifestyle or to someone who is looking to try products that are most recommended by a health and wellness influencer.
Distributed monthly, Men's Health has a total circulation of 1,819,151. Based off of their circulation,
if our magazine was an precise as theirs, we should be able to distribute approximately 300,000 magazines. In response to the magazine's success, Men's Health has won the James Bear Foundation Award for their journalism (2013) and the service award for the American Society of Journalists and Authors (2015); it has also been recognized as an Ad Age magazine of the year (2017). Clearly, Men's Health has done enough to be influential amongst a wide audience, an audience that has expressed its opinion in a positive manner. As an award-winning print media company, Men's Health continues to present updated health, nutrition, and physical fitness ideas and information to appeal to a vast audience.
