Distribution Research-Shape

Shape magazine has been able to successfully distribute its content by hosting events, collaborating with large name brands (i.e. Fosters Grant), and selling in typical locations (i.e. grocery stores, newstands, Target, Walmart, etc.). From doing this, Shape has successfully created a brand for themselves and grown as a company. They have also expanded through creating social media accounts, which helps them push to a younger audience that may find entertainment within their content.

By having social media accounts, Shape is able to share small pieces of their content, ultimately drawing in their audience, who are going to click the link in their bio and increase the amount of visits to their digital magazine (webazine).

In order for my magazine to get started, I see that it is necessary to collaborate with local and national events that are not too large, but are not small enough that we will not be successful in advertising. Since 5k races are something that are constantly occurring in my local community, it would be easy to team up with the board of the current race, and ask if we could sponsor them and set up a booth at the race after party\award ceremony. This technique will prove to be affective because as a small name, people will be curious as to what it is and what it provides, drawing them over to us to ask questions and discover more. By appearing at local and national events such as these, our magazine name will continue to build, grow a following, and become successful, as long as we continuously put ourselves out there and try to gain positive attention within the media and our community.
